The Claude J. Yates Family YMCA is a proposed 75,000 S.F. wellness facility for the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast and YMCA Metropolitan Offices in Jacksonville, Florida. Designed as a replacement facility to the existing downtown facility constructed in the 1950’s, this facility is to be located on the site closer to the St. Johns River. The facility is designed to connect with the surrounding urban neighborhood and riverfront public park. Program spaces include a 25,000 S.F. fitness area, 8,000 S.F. gymnasium, six-lane indoor natatorium, racquetball courts, multi-purpose studios, indoor and outdoor café, administrative offices, corporate offices and associated locker rooms, and service / storage areas. A structured parking garage for approximately 250 cars is also part of the project scope.
