“The estimated $9 million improvements include upgrades and the reconfiguration of nine floors in the tower at 301 W. Bay Street. The company will start construction immediately. The completed project will be 232,000 square feet, and Citizens expects to occupy the space by fall 2015.
Studio9 Architecture, the company handling deigns for 220 Riverside and Unity Plaza, will provide space planning, interior design and construction drawings for the relocation.
That renovation was a multiphased project on nine floors with 250,000 square feet and a total project cost of $8.4 million. The move will consolidate Citizens’ four Jacksonville offices as well as workers now in other cities in one location. The fully built space will have room to accommodate growth or temporary workers needed in case of emergency response to a disaster.
